Week 7 Reflection

  • What makes a good story?
I think a good story goes into depth and doesn't leave you confused with the plot. A good story teller is also necessary! Having someone who is invested in the story really adds some fun.
  • Give one example of a good story. This can either be a famous story, or just a family or personal story. Why is it good?
My father always told the story of how when I was younger (about 3 or 4 years old), I would sneak into the fridge to drink chocolate Hershey syrup from the bottle. He always went into great detail, such as the "pitter patter of my feet hitting the tile" and the "snapping of the Hershey cap popping open" alongside "a few outrageous chugging noises". What made the story even better was that it was extremely detailed and my father was invested in the story. He loved telling it and you could tell that he enjoyed seeing the effect it had on people. He even snapped photos of me that he would pass around to everyone as proof that I snuck out of my room at 3 am every morning for chocolate syrup (which was a little embarrassing, haha)
